Launched in mid-2020 under the
Tiger Siberian brand, the joint venture’s refrigerated products have already quickly attracted a list of customers synonymous with the UK cold chain market, among them a nationwide frozen food retail chain plus operators including Freshlinc, Moy Park and Willmotts Transport.
Following on from the single-temperature trailers initially manufactured and supplied to UK customers through the partnership, Lecitrailer and Tiger Trailers now also offer tri-axle reefers with three temperature zones courtesy of Carrier Vector HE 19 MT high-efficiency units with dual-discharge middle evaporation plus rear evaporation. The trailers incorporate a 2,000kg capacity Dhollandia retractable tail lift, solar panels for increasing energy efficiency, multiple external lights which boost safety, flooring that is low-noise and high-grip, and a front lift axle configured to work in reverse only to aid manoeuvrability. Lecitrailer branding is displayed prominently on the rear and in other places, and the trailers have entered service a household name in frozen foods in the UK.
The partnership between Lecitrailer and Tiger Trailers has been three years in the making and leverages the decades-long experience of the two leading semi trailer manufacturers. The UK company’s management team has visited Lecitrailer in Spain a number of times and the two firms’ various departments work together closely.
Tiger Trailers’ UK engineering team has over 30 years’ experience in the design of temperature-controlled products, and by collaborating with Lecitrailer, a proven and highly-respected leader in Europe, the British firm is able to offer its domestic market a full range of single or multi-temperature refrigerated solutions in various sizes.
All processes are undertaken in house, including panel manufacture, assembly, body and fridge unit fitment, and robotic welding is deployed on each chassis, to ensure consistency of weld and maximum production efficiency.
Several other UK warehousing, transport and logistics customers’ fleets are also running Tiger Siberian temperature-controlled products, which are in parallel offered on short to long term hire through the manufacturer’s Tiger Rentals business.
Through this partnership, Lecitrailer is building its presence in the UK cold chain market where its name, proven and trusted on the Continent, is becoming increasingly known and respected thanks to Tiger Trailers’ similarly well-regarded stature in the trailer sector. The manufacturer’s factory in the north of England acts as the authorised Lecitrailer service centre for products.
